Costa Teguise (Perfect for younger children)

Updated: Jan 21, 2020

This area of Lanzarote is my fave for kids up to about 10 years. It has so many playgrounds to encourage walks and perfect shallow water coves for hours of safe beach fun.

The hotels are mostly family orientated and the nightlife is very reserved. Our nightlife tends to be mini discos and kids shows.

The Iberostar and H10s would be my choice in this region. We stayed at the HD Beach resort as well (nothing necessarily wrong with it but wouldn't go back). Kids club and food weren't as good as H10 and Iberostar.

The beaches are perfect for little ones to play with shallow water for about 10 meters out in the coves. As long as the wind doesn't pick up it's where perfect holiday memories are made

Beaches are more plentiful and sandy in Costa Teguise than Playa Blanca.

It is all about making magic memories for the kids and as you know, if they are happy you will likely have a nice holiday no matter where you are. If you don't have small children the pics below probably look like the holiday from hell!

For details of specific hotels just send me a message.

There are loads of nice bars, cafes and restaurants where children are welcomed and because it is such a family region you definitely don't need to worry about boisterous night life! No strips around here... do you remember those? :)

Found a lovely new cafe a few months ago serving nice vegetarian options and tasty smoothies.

One of the great tips about this area is that if you come in off the beach walks you will find little squares with cafes and bars dotted around little playgrounds. you can sit outside with your drink while they play right in front of you. They have met lots of little friends and played for hours here while we have enjoyed some peace and refreshments :)

Then back to the hotel for a swim before Dinner! I always look for hotels with a slide or two in the pool area. As a child that's what I wanted!

Pool temperatures could be a little cold in lanzarote. Can never understand why they don't use solar panels. I usually bring a few warmer swim suits for the kids. If the wind picks up it can be quite chilly.

On our last visit we took a half day trip to the caves which was lovely as well as to Lanzarote Karting. Both were well worth the visit.

Lanzarote Karting come and pick you up from your hotel in a minivan so it's a really simple trip! The kids loved it. I would have been terrified at their age....still..

Again on this visit we ended up taking one of the kids to the doctor in the clinic in the town. Perfect english and a lovely modern clinic. We stayed three weeks checking out various hotels so even had to get haircuts in before it was time to go home.

Even the airport is nice for small kids with a tiny soft play area and toy shops.
